AMP Capital Shopping Centres political campaigning policy
This policy seeks to balance the needs of our customers with the needs of political associations.
Political canvassing/campaigning in shopping centres
AMP Capital Shopping Centres does not permit political campaigning/ canvassing at any centre, including either free or casual leasing of space during elections. This policy was introduced in 2005 in response to feedback from our customers.
The policy applies to registered political parties/ candidates, any activity that has a political association, or any activity which could be construed by our customers as political.
This policy also applies to politicians who lease space for their electoral offices in a shopping centre (excluding their office space, where they are free to hang posters, provide literature etc).
Meet and greets, walk-throughs, and photo opportunities
AMP Capital Shopping Centres permits all major/registered political parties to conduct 'meet and greets' or 'walk throughs' at shopping centres with prior permission from centre management. Other/independents and non registered candidates will be considered on a case by case basis. Insurance must be obtained from the candidates before approval is given. Centre security and a member of the centre management team must accompany the group at all times.
To arrange a meet and greet, please contact the Marketing Manager at the applicable shopping centre.
